TEAC is thrilled to announce the reveal of our first Interior Decorating 4 week course. Details of each class are listed below. We are looking forward to an exciting 4 weeks as Holly shares her professionalism with us. In turn, we will be able to bring our own dream of creating a beautiful environment into our own homes and make it a reality.
Week 1 – 90 Minutes: Floor Plans
Our first class will offer insight on how to start planning the room YOU want to create and the one that has been most challenging for you. Let’s figure out how to overcome these obstacles. We will discuss the focal point in the room and how to draw a floor plan to help you move forward in creating a well thought out and designed room. We will design your room using your existing furnishings and discuss how to budget for future purchases. The goal for this class is to help you see your room through new eyes.
Week 2 – 90 minutes: Blending Fabric Patterns
Our second class will feature tips, rules and guidelines on how to blend colors, mix textures and choose paint colors. Our discussion will include the psychology of color and how it affects our decorating scheme…and us. We will also discuss personal lifestyles and how to address these challenges during your design process. The goal of this class is to help you begin a color board for your project.
Week 3 – 90 minutes: Floors, Walls and Lighting
Our third class will focus on floors, walls and lighting. What type of flooring may work best in that room? How should we address the lighting in the room and what is on the walls? This class will offer tips on the do’s and don’ts when hanging artwork, mirrors and other wall decorations.
Week 4 – 90 minutes: Accessories
Our fourth class will focus on looking over the final room you have designed. Did you add in the final touches, such as accessories? Did you include your personal items, photographs, mementos, etc…Have you created a mood in this room? Did you design your room the way you originally envisioned? Are you happy with the results? If not, what are the changes we need to make?
I hope these classes will be informative and inspiring and help these students/homeowners get started on their personal projects. These classes are for decorating purposes only and do not cover any structural changes in the construction of their homes.
