"Blueprint Masters" introduces students to the exciting world of architecture, engineering, and design. Through hands-on projects and activities, students will learn about the principles of design, including form, function, and aesthetics. They will explore various building materials and construction techniques to create their own architectural designs. From building models, sketching and drawing, design challenges to collaborative projects such as building bridges, towers, or buildings, this course encourages teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. By participating in program, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the built environment and develop valuable skills that can be applied in a variety of fields. Students will work hands-on with fresh herbs and vegetables, and experience how they enhance the aroma and flavors of our dishes. We will master cooking safety, slicing, dicing, chopping, folding, baking, zesting, mixing, and more! All ingredients and supplies will be provided!This is a 6-week session. Students will learn fundamental methods of drawing and painting from life using live models and still life. Students will work in a variety of mediums: charcoal, watercolors, colored pencils and pastels.  Get ready to see your child’s work come to life as they build upon their foundation, learn from trial and error, and watch them break out of their comfort zones as they try new techniques. Fall – Crazy ChemWorks - Put on your goggles, lab coats, and raise your flasks with Mad Science! Bubbling dry ice potions, crazy chemical reactions, and big explosions will be happening in this MAD LAB! Your scientists will be doing hands on chemistry while learning the basic knowledge of the science! They will be creating chemical reactions such as the infamous elephant toothpaste that they can’t stop talking about and slime they think they have perfected but have not! Every student receives a lab coat, goggles, and specially designed Mad Science Take Homes to help extend learning at home. These are 6-week sessions. Any make-ups will be added to the end of the session.Fall Session: Thurs, Sept 28 - Nov 2 This is a 6-week session. 3:50 PM - 4:50 PM    Tang Soo Do - KAMAS Karate - Tang Soo Do
Master James King of King Academy of Martial Arts & Self-defense (KAMAS Karate) will train students in the discipline of Tang Soo Do. As such, students in this program are guided and challenged in the basic principles of the art to introduce the underlining principles of conduct of Tang Soo Do (honesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit). Emphasis is placed on enhancing each student’s physical, mental, and social development to influence the positive life skills and characteristics of discipline and self-confidence. The techniques taught inclusive of all kicks, strikes, blocks, stances, forms, sparring, and self-defense are aligned to the traditional teachings of Tang Soo Do as sanction by the ATA. Students will have the opportunity to achieve belts and will test for belt advancement throughout the program. Master James King of King Academy of Martial Arts & Self-defense (KAMAS Karate) will train students in the discipline of Tang Soo Do. As such, students in this program are guided and challenged in the basic principles of the art to introduce the underlining principles of conduct of Tang Soo Do (honesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit). Emphasis is placed on enhancing each student’s physical, mental, and social development to influence the positive life skills and characteristics of discipline and self-confidence. Chess is the fun game of thinking. It has been proven to develop memory, concentration, focus, logical thinking and the ability to calculate. The first class will be a review of the basics. Subsequent classes will offer some simple rules the student can use to select a move throughout the game. Sessions will involve a combination of learning and supervised playing.  The last class will consist of a tournament with prizes. All participants must know how the pieces move and the basic rules of chess. Connecticut Kids Play Chess, Inc. (CKPCI) one of the largest chess teaching organizations in Connecticut, will once again run the program. Master James King of King Academy of Martial Arts & Self-defense (KAMAS Karate) will train students in the discipline of Tang Soo Do. As such, students in this program are guided and challenged in the basic principles of the art to introduce the underlining principles of conduct of Tang Soo Do (honesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit). Emphasis is placed on enhancing each student’s physical, mental, and social development to influence the positive life skills and characteristics of discipline and self-confidence. The techniques taught inclusive of all kicks, strikes, blocks, stances, forms, sparring, and self-defense are aligned to the traditional teachings of Tang Soo Do as sanction by the ATA. Chess is the fun game of thinking. It has been proven to develop memory, concentration, focus, logical thinking and the ability to calculate. The first class will be a review of the basics. Subsequent classes will offer some simple rules the student can use to select a move throughout the game. Sessions will involve a combination of learning and supervised playing.  The last class will consist of a tournament with prizes. All participants must know how the pieces move and the basic rules of chess. Connecticut Kids Play Chess, Inc. (CKPCI) one of the largest chess teaching organizations in Connecticut, will once again run the program. Glenn Budzinski, the owner of CKPCI, a life-long chess teacher, Expert-rated player and certified chess tournament director, will teach the class. This is a 6-week session. Chess is the fun game of thinking. It has been proven to develop memory, concentration, focus, logical thinking and the ability to calculate. The first class will be a review of the basics. Subsequent classes will offer some simple rules the student can use to select a move throughout the game. Sessions will involve a combination of learning and supervised playing.  The last class will consist of a tournament with prizes. All participants must know how the pieces move and the basic rules of chess. Connecticut Kids Play Chess, Inc. (CKPCI) one of the largest chess teaching organizations in Connecticut, will once again run the program. Glenn Budzinski, the owner of CKPCI, a life-long chess teacher, Expert-rated player and certified chess tournament director, will teach the class. This is a 6-week session.
